LATEST UPDATE - March 2012
Rutland Healthwatch Project Board, including the LINk, established and Rutland Council funded LINk to employ a consultant to drive preparation and community consultation work, then employed a consultant to advise RCC on how to develop Healthwatch. He recommended that the Council establishes a ‘not for profit’ voluntary organisation (not a CiC), funded by the Council under a Service Level Agreement, which would either negotiate directly with Rutland Voluntary Organisations for support services, or employ its own staff, working from home, and buying in services.
It seems that this approach has failed and the Council has issued a specification and has advertised for tenders. The award of contract is planned for 26 March 2013.
